What is the difference with the existing warranty policy?

Currently Biostar USA Motherboards are covered by a 1 year manufacturer's warranty from date of purchase. If the item is out of warranty, there is a charge $45.00 USD charge to have it repaired. Beginning January 01, 2010 the warranty will be extended for additional 2 years, First two years parts and labor, third year parts. The new policy is based on manufacturing date code which can be located on the serial number for that product. Biostar Serial numbers look like 62004K09234000 the K0923 = 09 is the year, 23 is the week it was made. The warranty would expire on 2012 week 23.

Why are you doing this?

Why not? Biostar has been around since 1986 and is only getting bigger, better, and stronger. Brand is popularity is growing, product quality is of high standards. To give peace of mind to all Biostar customers and provide extra value existing customers, so why not.

Does this cover existing customers?

Yes, if you own a Biostar motherboard the warranty period will be based on the manufacturers date code which is located on the serial number.
