Question:
How do I install Windows 2000/XP onto SATA hard drives, the SATA RAID controller is VIA VT6420 or VIA VT8237? |
Answer:
First you must copy all files and folders from the motherboard driver CD (see the exact folder below) to a formatted floppy diskette:
X:\Driver\SATA\VT6420\driver (X = The drive letter of your CDROM drive)
1. Boot up the system by using Win2K/XP CD
2. Press F6 when you see the blue Windows Setup screen.
3. Then Windows Setup will find the SATA Driver from the floppy and install it automatically.
4. Follow the instruction and continue Windows setup as usual.
