Question:
I turn on the computer, it stays on for a few seconds then abruptly shuts off automatically. |
Answer:
Chances are the CPU Savior technology kicked in to prevent your CPU from overheating. Unplug the power cord. Clear CMOS settings by moving the JCMOS jumper cap from pins 1-2 to 2-3, leave it there for 5 seconds, then move it back to pins 1-2. Take out the CPU and the CPU cooler and visually inspect them for external damages. Carefully reinstall both properly. Make sure there is adequate amount of thermal grease and solid contact between the processor and the heatsink. Test the CPU fan elsewhere to be sure that it does spin. Plug in the power cord and try to power on again.
